Euros Odds Trimmed After Qualifying Double

The prospect of England winning their first major honour since the World Cup in 1996 is being increasingly gambled after they made it four wins from four against Kosovo at St Mary’s Stadium in Southampton.

Gareth Southgate’s men beat Bulgaria 4-0 at Wembley on Saturday, but their 5-3 success over Kosovo means they have scored five goals in each of their other three matches to date to race clear at the top of Group A with a 100% record.

England’s 19-goal haul so far puts them on a par with France and Belgium as the top scorers in qualifying, but the Three Lions have reached that mark in two games less than the others and now their odds on winning the tournament outright are being cut drastically.

BoyleSports have cut England into 9/2 from 6/1 after the two recent performances, meaning they head the likes of Spain (7/1), Belgium (7/1), Germany (8/1), Holland (9/1), Italy (14/1) and reigning champions Portugal (14/1) in the betting.

France are 7/2 favourites to do what they did 20 years ago by following up their World Cup win with victory at the European Championships.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports told THE BET: “We’re seeing a real increase in support for England to win Euro 2020 outright and if their performances and the patterns are sustained, we may soon have to consider a new favourite.”
