The 2020 PDC World Championship final takes place on Wednesday at Ally Pally and it’s Michael van Gerwen who is the hot favourite to collect his fourth title and make it back-to-back wins in the prestigious darts competition.
MvG has had another stellar year winning the Premier League, Players Championship Finals, the Masters and the BoyleSports World Grand Prix in October where he beat Dave Chisnall in the final.
30-year old Mighty Mike takes on 49-year old Peter Wright in the PDC World Championship final and punters have backed the Dutch talent to go all the way and secure another title at odds of 4/11. Snakebite is 11/5 to beat MvG with the odds stacked against him as Wright has never beaten van Gerwen in a major final before.
Peter Wright was runner up in the BoyleSports Grand Slam of Darts last month after Gerwyn Price secured back-to-back victories. However, after beating Price 6-3 in the semi-finals on Monday night, Wright will be full of confidence going into the final.
Sarah Kinsella, spokesperson for BoyleSports told THE BET: “Ally Pally will be buzzing on New Year’s Day for the final of the PDC World Championship with Michael van Gerwen the hot 4/11 favourite to beat Peter Wright who is 11/5. It’s going to be a cracking final but based on how MvG has been playing this year, he will be very hard to beat in the final as he chases his fourth title in the competition.”
MVG is 4/11 with our betting partners GROSVENOR SPORT and Peter Wright is 21/10
