With just under 4 weeks to go to the eagerly awaiting Heavyweight bout between Ukrainian pound for pound CRUISERWEIGHT king Oleksandr Usyk and Britain’s Dereck Chisora we look at how the fight pans out.
USYK is heavy ODDS on in the betting currently at 2/15 as you would expect from a guy 17-0 with 13 KO’s, who unified the cruiserweight division and WON season 1 of the World Boxing Super Series in 2019, although don’t underestimate Chisora 32-9, 23 KO’s who is a seasoned campaigner and had this fight come a couple of years earlier he could well be a lot shorter odds than 11/2.
On paper the fight is USKY’S but will a much bigger opponent tire out the Ukrainian? Personally we only see one bet which is USYK to cruise to a points victory being the skilful boxer that he has proved to be over the past couple of years.
Writing in our sister paper DAILY SPORT boxing promoter and columnist Dennis Hobson said “I really like Usyk, he’s a class act and I think he’ll have some say in the world titles mix. He’s a unique talent and he’ll have too much for Dereck, who’s a bit of a gatekeeper in the heavyweights. This should be a good yardstick though to see how Usyk fares at the new weight.”
For anyone thinking this could end up a DRAW the odds are a MASSIVE 30/1 with our pals at STAR SPORTS.
