Zafaranah is on a handy mark now returned to the turf and looks worth a wager at 9/2 in the 4.35 at Ripon today.
Trained by Pam Sly, this five-year-old mare has notched all her three career successes on the Tapeta at Wolverhampton.
The last of those came back in January where she scored by a short-head in a class 5 off a rating of 74.
She was also far from disgraced at that venue when a 2 1/2 length fifth of 12 to Blame Culture in a class 4 off 77 and is now able to race in this class 5 to race off 67.
That gives her a big shout at the weights and she ran well off her current mark of the turf at Doncaster 13 months ago when beaten just a nose and backed that up with a fine 1/2 length second to Himslef in a 12-runner affair at Newmarket.
Those efforts reda well in relation to this and Zafaranah goes well for Rob Hornby who has won twice and been placed on two occasions on her in nine starts.
The stable also has a healthy overall strike rate of 24 per cent with it’s runners at the Yorkshire venue, so everything looks in place for a big run.
