A fabulous 12-race card takes centre-stage at Newcastle on Thursday which gets underway at 6.19pm. The card features excellent prize money and is live on Racing Post Greyhound TV, which is Sky Channel 175. With the watch and bet initiative, you can also stream the action on a betting app of your choice. I’ve previewed the action with stats and analysis.
6:19: Newcastle: Bramble Ontheup (Trap Five)
A progressive type who scored nicely at the track on her latest start and she looks the type to progress further.
6:36: Newcastle: Taste The Magic (Trap Three)
This is trappy, but the selection trialled well at the track recently and is the tentative selection.
6:51: Newcastle: Freedom Lord (Trap Three)
Was disappointing last time, but met trouble in running. He possesses plenty of talent and can make amends here.
7:09: Newcastle: Hazelwood Alarm (Trap Five)
Lots to like about her latest win where she showed a smart turn of foot to win easily. A reproduction of that effort makes her hard to beat.
7:26: Newcastle: Cold As Ice (Trap Four)
Smart talent who was third in the English Puppy Derby final and he looks one of the best bets of the night.
7:41: Newcastle: Ice Cool Maiden (Trap Five)
Lots to like about her profile and she has won three of her last four starts at the track. She is ultra-progressive and is a leading player here.
7:58: Newcastle: Alnwick Alan (Trap Six)
Got his head in front at the track last month and he was far from disgraced in an Open Race at Sheffield recently. He is of interest.
8:12: Newcastle: Fadesandblades (Trap One)
Is unbeaten in his last two starts and this draw should suit. He is progressing through the ranks and has to be of interest.
8:27: Newcastle: Coolavanny Dylan (Trap Three)
A very talented sprinter who won the Dash Final at Perry Barr in November. He posted a sensational solo time in a trial at the track earlier this month and is the one to beat based on that.
8:46: Newcastle: Abrakebabara Kizz (Trap Two)
A wide-open event. He has to bounce back from a disappointing effort when favourite last time out, but most of this field have questions to answer and he does boast a solid profile.
9:01: Newcastle: Acomb Winston (Trap Four)
Only fifth in the final of the BGBF St Leger, but he is very talented and also boasts a smart time at this track.
9:16: Newcastle: Jumeirah Liberty (Trap Five)
Lots to like about her profile. A semi-finalist in the Oaks last year, her trial time was arguably disappointing at the track last time. However, she is a very talented individual who is taken to land a fascinating finale.
